Although drama surrounded the title during the buildup to its release, 4A Games was able to create a game that elevated the relatively bleak series through its narrative of finding faith and hope in a desolate world. The third entry into the Metro series takes players above ground and deviates from its more linear type of gameplay, replacing it with a bit more of an open-world feeling that invites exploration and discovery.
